Defending Our Oceans Tour - Hawaii Trash
As part of the Ocean Defenders Campaign the Greenpeace ship Esperanza MV sails to the Pacific Ocean, sometimes referred to as the North Pacific garbage patch, to document the threat that plastic poses to the environment and sea life. As part of the campaign plastic is displayed on a beach and the word "Trash" is spelled out from rubbish. An underwater search reveals dangerous debris such as "ghost nets" and plastic crates which are inhabited by tropical fish.
