Steel Cities in China's Hebei Province
Air pollution has become one of the most severe environmental problems in Mainland China, esp. in Jing-Jin-Ji (national capital region) in Northern China. Hebei Province made its steel industry the main target for a major effort to control air pollution after China announced its 'Action on Air Pollution' in September 2013. Greenpeace keeps an eye on the implementation of these national and local policies, and determines if steel factories hinder the implementation of coal reduction target in the key regions.
