Brazil is home to many unique ecosystems that are essential for the planet, biodiversity and climate. However, this precious nature is being ravaged, mainly by industrial agriculture and the human rights of indigenous communities that live there are being denied. It is to witness the reality on the ground that the Greenpeace France Forest team is going on an expedition to Brazil.

The Amazonian forest is not the only one to suffer this destruction. The Cerrado and the Pantanal are also seriously threatened by industrial agriculture, which is where the team went from 15 to 25 September.

Today we have a unique opportunity in Europe to protect ecosystems like the Amazon, the Cerrado and the Pantanal. For several months, a European anti-deforestation regulation has been under discussion. If its content is ambitious enough, it could put an end to the imported deforestation in which we participate by importing and marketing in Europe products at risk of deforestation, such as soybeans for livestock.
