Berlin: 20 Greenpeace activists protest against the climate killing politics of the SPD (Social Democrats Party) at the party’s headquarters in Berlin. The environmentalists set up a six by six meters fake bucket wheel of a brown coal excavator on the rooftop of the Willy-Brandt-House (headquarters). A banner at the façade reads: “Mr. Gabriel, coal kills the climate!” The activists demand from the SPD and their chairmen to initiate the direct exit from coal-fired power generation. “Minister Gabriel pays court to the dirty brown coal industry in Germany and it is rewarded for sticking to this climate killer” says Susanne Neubronner, energy expert from Greenpeace.

Auf dem Dach des Willy-Brandt-Hauses haben die Umweltschützer eine sechs mal sechs Meter große Attrappe des Schaufelrads eines Braunkohlebaggers aufgestellt. Die Aktivisten fordern die SPD und ihren Vorsitzenden auf, den konkreten Ausstieg aus der Kohleverstromung einzuleiten.
