Threatened destruction of Lützerath at the Garzweiler opencast lignite mine. The village of Lützerath at the Garzweiler opencast lignite mine is threatened with demolition by the RWE Group. October 1, 2021 marks the start of the clearing season, which will allow the corporation to cut down trees in the village and create the first facts. Greenpeace activists hang an 18-meter-long banner on Eckardt Heukamp's farm at the entrance to Lützerath village. Afterwards, actors of the climate justice movement speak in a joint press conference.
