Greenpeace activists blocked a combined discharge sewer operated by the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) in Cork Harbour in protest at the government system of licensing toxic pollution. Activists dismantled pipes from the incinerator block.
The next day Greenpeace activists climbed and occupied a toxic waste incinerator under construction at Sandoz's new pharmaceutical plant in Cork Harbour. Greenpeace called for the State plannings board to revoke the incinerators licence.
