Shoot: Community Protest Against Coal Power Plant in Thailand
GP0STOM90
Community expresses concerns on the environmental impacts which may be caused from the Ban Klong Ruo Coal Seaport project. It poses several threats to Krabi’s natural environment, including Krabi Estuary, the Wetland of International Importance, home to the second largest sea-grass beds in Thailand.
Most importantly, sustainable livelihoods, tourism sector and local fisheries will be hardest hit by this project.
Greenpeace supports community's effort in protecting Krabi against the proposed coal project.
