Shoot: Singapore Haze Victims

GP0STOH7Q
Singapore citizens affected by the forest fires originating from palm oil and pulp and paper industry burning off deforested land. The 2013 Southeast Asian haze was notable for causing record high levels of pollution in Singapore and several parts of Malaysia. Greenpeace was one of the first NGOs to single out palm oil companies for their role in the fires. The Haze Wave sent pollution levels in Singapore skyrocketing, sparking frenzied buying of facemasks and a swathe of regional meetings between regional governments.
