The apple orchard, which is called 'Appleplot', is planted on a piece of land purchased by Greenpeace along with over 60,000 concerned citizens from around the world. The orchard makes a link between the past and the present of Heathrow. In the mid 1800's, Richard Cox bred the Cox's orange pippin just a mile from the airport, in one of the villages under threat from runway plans.
