Thirty Greenpeace activists, disguised as nuclear waste barrels, enter the Borssele nuclear power plant in Zeeland, the Netherlands. They paint a huge crack on the dome of the reactor demonstrating that the plant is old and unsafe and should be shut down. The action with nuclear waste barrels shows that in spite of fences and cameras, the security of Borssele is not a fact. Due for shutdown in 2013 the Dutch government is considering keeping the plant operational. Greenpeace finds this very irresponsible, because a nuclear power plant is an easy target for terroristic attacks and can never be protected for one hundred percent. In addition nuclear waste remains highly dangerous for 240,000 years. Greenpeace demands from the government the closing of Borssele and serious investment in safe and positive energy from sun, wind and biomass.
