Greenpeace activists call for the intensification of anti-nuclear policies in Carinthia. As a reaction to Italy’s plans for building new nuclear facilities just over the border, twenty activists stage a mock “die-in” scene at the Neue Markt in the center of Klagenfurt. They wear protective clothing and hold Geiger counters, while alarm sirens alert passersby to the dangers of the current nuclear policies. They are calling for the governor of Carinthia to apply political pressure on the neighboring country of Italy. Greenpeace demands an end to nuclear programs which will affect the people and environment in both countries.
