S. Srinivasan, owner of Trans Solar Technologies- a company that provides energy services, has collaborated with Holy Family hospital in New Delhi, to set up its own solar thermal station. The system is set up on the roof, and provides hot water to the hospital on a contractual basis. The company will provide them 22,000 litres of hot water per day, and the hospital will pay him Rs. 55,000 per month in return.
The whole point is that it's small-scale, tailor-made to the individual situation, and is a perfect example of small-scale decentralised renewable energy. Greenpeace India documents the endeavour.
