"Nuclear waste – where to?" With this haunting question, Greenpeace activists protest against the nuclear industry. Even after 34 years of nuclear waste production, the Swiss nuclear power station operators have no solution for the disposal of nuclear waste. The nuclear industry is playing with the idea of using the region Zug as a storage site. Only after the adoption of the two "Power without Atoms" initiatives on the 18th of May, further growth of the giant nuclear waste mountain can be stopped. Nuclear waste arises during the production of nuclear power as an unavoidable waste product. The high-level radioactive waste continues to radiate for millions of years. Waste rays are a major danger to future generations. The longer the nuclear power plants continue to run, the greater the waste mountain. The managers want to run their nuclear waste-factories for 60 years or longer. With this action, Greenpeace activists want to point out that with the adoption of the "Power without Atoms" initiatives will limit the operating time of these factories to 30 years, and thus reducing the quantity of dangerous nuclear waste by half.
