Sixty-eight inflatable whales are “released’ in the Beijing Longtan Park, symbolizing freedom for whales and the two anti-whaling activists in Japan. The activity is in support of the two activists in Japan - Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki, who exposed an illegal whaling scandal in May 2008. The two are currently on trial and they could spend up to 10 years in jail if the prosecutor demands a custodial sentence tomorrow. Greenpeace urges the Japanese Government to release the two activists and stop whaling in Southern Ocean immediately.
