Shoot: Eyes on the Reef - Campaign Explainer

GP0STP5VW
The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system and one of the most diverse and rich ecosystems on the planet. The Australian and Queensland Governments are giving coal companies permission to dig up coal and ship it out through the Great Barrier Reef. The threats to the Great Barrier Reef are already in place with climate change warming and acidifying the ocean - to put more pressure on this fragile and delicate natural jewel is unthinkable.
The vast majority of Australians wants the Reef, not more coal expansion, but the Abbott government is more interested in propping up a dying coal industry than keeping alive the Great Barrier Reef. This video urges viewers to “Take Another Look” at the Reef and highlights the beauty that is at risk of destruction if reckless plans for further industrial development go ahead.
