Shoot: Indonesian Rock Band Joins Greenpeace in Kalimantan

GP0STPGV9
Indonesian rock band 'Boomerang’ together with environment activists building a dam to block a canal drainage on the peatlands in Paduran village, Sebangau sub district, Central Kalimantan province, Indonesia. Greenpeace and other NGOs are working with the Paduran community to re-wet peatlands and prevent future fires. Central Kalimantan was badly hit during the 2015 forest fires disaster. Indonesia's peatlands cover just over 21 million hectares an area smaller than the UK. Yet this small area stores 57GtC, equivalent to more than 6 years of global emissions from fossil fuels.
