Greenpeace activists and volunteers wearing unusual clothes in occasion of the Carnival season, protest in Campo Felice, Apennines Mountains, Italy, as part of a global week of action around the world to ask leading outdoor brands to stop using hazardous chemicals in their products. PFCs (Poly- and per-fluorinated compounds) are hazardous and persistent chemicals, dangerous to human health and the environment, and they have been found in the products of leading outdoor brands including The North Face and Mammut who keep using PFCs to make their gear waterproof despite their claims of sustainability and love for nature.
