Greenpeace activists demand phase out of coal at Mátra Power Plant as it turns 50

Greenpeace activists place giant letters on the ground in front of Hungary's last operating coal-fired power plant as the facility turned 50. The letters read: STOP COAL. Burning of coal is responsible for 46% of carbon dioxide emissions worldwide. Activists hold banners saying "Stop Coal" and "Climate Emergency".

With this action Greenpeace demands the Hungarian government to take responsibility and fight climate crisis by shutting down the Mátra Power Plant and to replace it with renewable energy.
