Shoot: Yamuna River Clean Up Drive in New Delhi
GP0STS21C
This World Environment Day, Greenpeace India Volunteers joined hands to clean up the banks of the river Yamuna in New Delhi.
The Yamuna is the longest and the secong largest tributary of the Ganges in northern India. Along the river's banks are many historic monuments, including the Taj Mahal in Agra.
It is also one of the most polluted rivers in the country, with plastic waste littering the length of its banks. However, the river is on the verge of extinction, pollution and environmental changes has resulted in the dismal condition of the river.
