Solar panels are installed on the roof of a school in Horni Jiretin, a town at the edge of a coal mine in Czech Republic. After a lot of resistance from the residents, the government has stopped the expansion of the coal mine, and now the town has a sustainable future ahead. To support the development of sustainable energy, Greenpeace Czech Republic helped to organize peer2peer fundraising for a solar panel system and last year managed to raise 300k Czech Crowns. Now the panels have been installed on the school, which is celebrating a step towards breaking free from fossil fuels.
