11 orcas and 87 belugas, including 15 belugas calves (younger than 1 year) were caught in the period between July-October 2018 in the Okhotsk Sea near the east coast of Russia. Now they are held in the so called prison for whales. All orcas and most of the belugas are waiting to be brought to China for demonstration in oceanariums.
The whale jail is located at the coast of the Okhotsk Sea (Pacific), near Nahodka city, about 7,000 km east of Moscow. Greenpeace demands the release of all orcas and belugas.
