Shoot: Protest for the Protection of Bialowieza Forest at Environment Ministry in Poland
GP0STRB7Z
Greenpeace activists protest in front of the Ministry of Environment after a decision of the EU Court of Justice, to ensure the Minister respects European law and follows the Court order to halt any logging and removal of trees from the ancient Białowieża Forest in Poland.
On the 20th November, the EU Court of Justice’s upheld order for Poland to cease logging in the Bialowieza Forest and imposed a penalty payment of at least € 100 000 per each day of future infringement.
The Polish Environment Minister does not agree with the ECJ’s decision.
