Shoot: “Minister of Coal and Smog” Projection in Poland
GP0STRGPD
Greenpeace activists display a projection on the building of the Ministry of Energy in Warsaw with the text reading "Minister of Coal and Smog”, to highlight the failed promises made by the minister of energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski.
In January 2017 the Polish government announced a plan aiming at air pollution reduction. Politicians finally recognized a serious problem all over the country - according to the World Health Organisation 33 out of 50 most polluted EU cities are in Poland. Unfortunately after one year most of the government's promises remain unfulfilled - including such fundamental issues as introducing coal quality standards. For example in Poland it is still possible to heat households with the lowest quality coal that shouldn’t be allowed to be sold as coal waste.
