The Greenpeace ship Sirius and activists protest against the dumping of chemical waste by the titanium dioxide industry at the North Sea. Bayer in Antwerp and NL Chemicals in Gent send out every day two ships, Falco (NL Chemicals) and Wadsy (Bayer), to dump about 1000 tonnes of chemical waste (titanium dioxide) in the waters off the Belgian-Dutch coast. Greenpeace takes action against the dumpship Wadsy as protest against the unwillingness of the chemical firm to stop the discharges and to urge the Belgium government to speed up an environmental policy. Greenpeace wants to put an end to this marine pollution.
