Shoot: Opening Day of Tokyo Two Trial in Aomori

GP01Z5J
Toru Suzuki and Junichi Sato, the two Greenpeace activists known as the "Tokyo Two", on the opening day of their trial, following their exposure of an embezzlement scandal inside the taxpayer-funded Japanese whaling industry. Greenpeace has gifted two ice sculpture representing Lady Justice to the people of Aomori and its court to mark the February 15th opening of trial against the two activists. The trial has become a landmark for Japan's legal system, after a recent opinion by the United Nations Human Rights Council's Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found that authorities have breached both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political rights, in the treatment of Sato and Suzuki.
