Shoot: Action against North Sea Pollution in Rotterdam

GP01OT8
At June 2 in 1989 Greenpeace starts the international North Sea campaign with a press conference at the Greenpeace ship in Rotterdam and a spectacular stunt at the Euromast. In the coming 10 months the campaign will take place in all the eight North Sea states with the three Greenpeace ships, Beluga, Greenpeace and Moby Dick. Greenpeace has chosen this period, because in March 1990 the third conference of Ministers about the protection of the North Sea will begin. In the 18 months after the last conference hardly any agreement has been accomplished. After the press conference activists unfurl an enormous banner from the Euromast with the text 'North Sea: No time to waste'. The Greenpeace campaign is a protest against the discharge and dumping of toxic chemical waste into the North Sea. (see also shoot GP01OTP)
