Shoot: Action against Tropical Timber in Delfzijl

GP01LSI
Greenpeace activists are painting big tree-trunks of tropical hardwood blood red with eco-friendly paint and hold up a banner showing an angry gorilla with the slogan: "Get out of my forest!" The timber comes from African countries where rain forests are disappearing rapidly by illegal and destructive logging. These marked trunks were later found back all over the country in provinces like Friesland, Drenthe, Gelderland and Overijssel.
About 50 % of all tropical hardwood used in the Netherlands is logged illegally.
