The Rim Fire is the third largest wildfire on the books in California and the largest ever recorded in Yosemite National Park. The fire's perimeter is at least 246,350 acres, according the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The fire was caused by a hunter who let an illegal fire get out of control.
