Greenpeace activists mapping the tree population in the municipal forest of Goettingen. Activists measure the distribution, diameter and height of trees and use GPS technology for the monitoring of the forest condition.
Foresters protect 10 percent of the municipal forest of Goettingen from any forestry use. They manage the forest adhering to the ecological principles of "Naturnahe Waldnutzung" (natural woodland development).
