Shoot: Airship Protests Duke Energy at Cliffside Plant

GP0STO1K7
The Greenpeace Airship A.E. Bates flew over the Cliffside Coal Plant with a message for Duke Energy, the largest electric utility in the United States. The flight was to call attention to Duke Energy’s plans to continue using coal, nuclear and other forms of dangerous energy at great public cost. Banners on the airship read “Duke: Don’t Raise Rates for Dirty Energy” and “Cleaner is Cheaper.”
Greenpeace released “Charting the Correction Course: A Clean Energy Pathway for Duke Energy” to coincide with a series of flights of the Airship over North Carolina locations. The report details how the newly merged Duke Energy can invest in wind, solar and energy efficiency while saving themselves and North Carolina rate payers billions of dollars over 20 years.
