At the digital Annual General Meeting on 15 June 2023 of Deutsche Bank subsidiary DWS, Greenpeace made a speech calling on both CEO Stefan Hoops and the future Supervisory Board to end the fund company's systematic greenwashing. Greenpeace financial expert Mauricio Vargas has submitted two countermotions: Due to the inadequate implementation of the promised sustainability and climate protection strategy, neither the Executive Board nor the Supervisory Board may be discharged. The compensation report must also not be approved. Vargas, a financial expert, believes that Deutsche Bank, as the majority shareholder with around 80 percent of the shares, is primarily responsible for this. 

Frankfurt am Main, 15. 6. 2023 – Auf der heutigen digitalen Hauptversammlung der Deutsche-Bank-Tochter DWS hat Greenpeace in einem Redebeitrag sowohl CEO Stefan Hoops als auch den zukünftigen Aufsichtsrat dazu aufgefordert, das systematische Greenwashing der Fondsgesellschaft zu beenden. Greenpeace-Finanzexperte Mauricio Vargas hat zwei Gegenanträge eingereicht: Aufgrund der mangelhaften Umsetzung der versprochenen Nachhaltigkeits- und Klimaschutzstrategie dürfen weder Vorstand noch Aufsichtsrat entlastet werden. Auch der Vergütungsbericht darf nicht angenommen werden. Finanzexperte Vargas sieht dabei vor allem die Deutsche Bank als Mehrheitseigner mit rund 80 Prozent der Aktien in der Pflicht.
