The KlimaSeniorinnen on their visit to Athens, Greece (24-27 of January). They discussed with us, with volunteers as well as with other organizations and awareness-raising groups about their case, about the importance of a strong climate movement, its close relation to human rights and how to make the movement stronger. During their stay in Athens, they participated in various events, organized by Greenpeace Greece along with the Greek National Commission for Human Rights. They took the “Invisible Routes” tour, which is a social project offering guided tours in the center of Athens, led by homeless Athenians who show the unseen side of the reality of life in the streets. Then, the KlimaSeniorinnen were panelists in an open discussion regarding the climate movement, human rights and the most vulnerable social groups, which took place at the Goethe-Institut Athen. Several journalists, other organizations and movements, Greenpeace supporters and volunteers, students and citizens attended the discussion. Finally, during their last day they took part in a discussion with several women's rights movements, regarding how women are one of the most vulnerable groups in all the crises and at the same time how women can play a lead role in combating these crises. Before they left, they spread their message demanding climate justice under the most iconic landmark of Greece, the Acropolis.
