'Food for Life' Campaign Launch in Nairobi
Greenpeace Africa holds several events as part of the Food for Life Campaign Launch in Nairobi, Kenya.
Greenpeace holds a media 'mkutano' (meeting in Swahili) for the launch of the campaign in Africa, and also the 'Fostering Economic Resilience' report. The report shows how small scale farmers benefit more financially when they use ecological farming versus chemical inputs. Later in the week, Greenpeace hosts a food fair which includes an exciting cook-off contest, where contestants are challenged to use indigenous varieties of crops to create their dishes. Also on offer is an ecologically-farmed organic farmers market, live music, children's activities, and delicious food supplied by a local organic partner restaurant.
