"Tell the Caisse to Divest" Protest in Quebec

Greenpeace Canada co-organized an action, in front of the Caisse de Depot, in Montreal, Canada to ask the CDPQ to remove its fossil fuel investments. The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ, a pension fund institution) invested a significant part of its Quebec savings in fossil fuels. These investments are incompatible with the Paris Accord, with climate science, and with Indigenous rights. They are also becoming more and more risky since the energy transition is accelerating, renewable energies are picking up momentum, and existing fossil fuel projects are already (or are in the process of becoming) strongly devalued.
