Action: Intrusion and Blockade of the EPR Site in Flamanville, France
Activists from Greenpeace France broke into the EPR construction site in Flamanville and blocked its entrance to denounce the desire of Emmanuel Macron and other candidates for the presidential election to build new EPR reactors, in contempt for the risks and uncertainties associated with nuclear power.
Inside the site, activists posted themselves a few dozen meters from the reactor building to hold up a banner bearing the message “Nuclear : Macron irresponsible” and «no fossil fuel, no nuclear, for peace».
Jean-François Julliard, Greenpeace France executive director, was arrested during this intrusion.
Two metal structures 5 meters high from which were suspended two Greenpeace France climbers, provided with banners «100% renewable for peace» also prevented the passage.
