The local Salta government ordered Alejandro Braun Peña, farm owner and cousin of the president's Chief of Staff, to stop the bulldozers.Greenpeace had denounced the case in 2014 and stopped the clearing for a month until the activists were arrested. Since last December, nearly 900 hectares of native forests were destroyed.
