Action against Princes Tuna in UK
Greenpeace climbers put a banner on the front of the Liver Building in Liverpool, the head office of Princes, the biggest tinned tuna company in the UK. Other campaigners dressed as sharks and to the sound track of ‘Jaws’ handed out leaflets to Prince’s staff as they arrived at work. Princes is at the bottom of Greenpeace’s 2011 tinned tuna league table. This is because of their fishing methods that result in so many sharks and other endangered species being unnecessarily caught in their nets whilst they are tuna fishing.
