With helium balloons and cloth Greenpeace activists construct a 1:1 model of the garbage oven’s chimney which is to be seen in the sky. Written on the banner is „Stopp Mülltourismus“, which translates into: „Stop garbage tourism“. The strong wind is very challenging for keeping the banner at that height. Greenpeace demands from the company that is in charge, the Begas, to finally abstain from garbage transports that exceed 100 kilometres. In original language:Aktion gegen Müllverbrennungsanlage HeiligenkreuzWien, 27. Locations:Austria-Central EuropeDate:27 Mar, 2009Credit:© Greenpeace / Barbara TschannMaximum size:1696px X 2544pxKeywords:Actions and protests-Balloons-Day-Incineration-Incinerators-KWCI (GPI)-One person-Outdoors-Toxics (campaign title)-Waste managementShoot:Action against Waste Incineration Plant Heiligenkreuz in AustriaGreenpeace continues its campaign against the construction of the garbage incineration plant Heiligenkreuz with an action at the site where the plant is supposed to be built, the industrial park Heiligenkreuz. With helium balloons and cloth, about 40 activists from Austria and Hungary construct a 1:1 model of the garbage oven’s chimney which is to be seen in the sky at a height of about 96 meters, which equals the height of the planned chimney. Written on the banner is „Stopp Mülltourismus“, which translates into: „Stop garbage tourism“. Greenpeace demands from the company that is in charge, the Begas, to finally abstain from garbage transports that exceed 100 kilometres.
