The activists earlier secured a mooring line across the dump's access but this was later cut by the dumpsite's staff. The company is illegally operating on the shores of Manila Bay. The facility violates existing laws such as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003), the Clean Water Act (RA 8275) and the Clean Air Act (RA 8749). Greenpeace and EcoWaste Coalition are calling for the immediate closure of the dump, as well as for its clean-up and rehabilitation.Locations:Manila-Manila Bay-Philippines-Southeast AsiaDate:25 Jul, 2013Credit:© Steve De Neef / GreenpeaceMaximum size:3000px X 2000pxKeywords:Actions and protests-Barges-Day-Defending Our Oceans (campaign title)-Dumping-Dumps-Greenpeace activists-Greenpeace inflatables-Illegal-KWCI (GPI)-Landfills-Marine pollution-Oceans (campaign title)-Outdoors-Rubbish-Waste disposal-Waste managementShoot:MY Esperanza in the PhilippinesThe Greenpeace ship MY Esperanza is in the Philippines for a three week journey starting in the Visayas and ending in Manila.
