Action in Opposition to GNL in Montreal, Québec

A big banner reads “GNL: t’as pas le go, Legault!” in Montreal, Quebec, as part of six activities showing multiple communities' solidarity in opposition to the GNL Québec project - from Saguenay to Montreal, on the day before the Bureau d'Audiences Publiques sur l'Environnement (BAPE) submits a key report to the Legault government, the coordinated actions send a united message to the Premier to reject the project: there is no social acceptability for this project, which will have major impacts on climate, biodiversity and health.
The banners are organised by Greenpeace Canada and citizen groups in 6 major cities across Québec - in Montreal, Trois-Rivières, Shawinigan, Chicoutimi, Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda - some of which will be impacted by the project itself- in opposition to the mega gas liquefaction project called GNL Québec.' The government is expected to give an answer about the project's development by end of March based on recommendations from Québec's environmental regulatory body - the BAPE.
