Action on Enel Power Plant

Enel's power plant in Genoa before Greenpeace activists entered and painted 'Climate Killer' in Italian beneath the company logo. Greenpeace called on the energy company Enel to shut down its coal-fired power plant in Genoa in a series of actions calling for an energy [r]evolution. Enel is persisting in keeping the plant open, despite demands by the Ligurian regional government to shut it down immediately.

The Rainbow Warrior and the Arctic Sunrise took the clear message to "Quit Coal" to 11 Mediterranean and European countries ahead of crucial UN climate negotiations held in Poznan, Poland in December 2008. From Israel to Denmark, the tour highlighted that to save the climate, we have to end our dependence on coal, and adopt more clean energy solutions.
