Action to Commemorate Bhopal Mumbai
On the 19th anniversary of the world's worst industrial disaster, Greenpeace activists and students protest in Mumbai as part of the Global day of action against corporate crimes. They speak out in support of the thousands of people in Bhopal who are still suffering from the Bhopal accident in 1984.
The disaster killed thousands and the polluted site of the abandoned factory still leaks poison into the groundwater of local residents.

Global Commemoration for 19th Anniversary of Bhopal Disaster
Activists commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Bhopal disaster, the world's worst industrial disaster, in which thousands lost their lives. The disaster occurred in the Indian city of Bhopal when a Union Carbide chemical plant released 40 tonnes of highly toxic methyl isocyanate. The disaster killed thousands and the polluted site of the abandoned factory still leaks poisons into the groundwater of local residents. Dow Chemical bought Union Carbide in 2001, but will not accept any responsibility for the clean up of the contaminated site.
