The activists deploy a new banner which reads '#SaveTheArctic'. Six Greenpeace New Zealand activists, along with Lawless, famous for her roles in 'Xena: Warrior Princess' and 'Spartacus', boarded the vessel and scaled its 53-metre drilling derrick more than 24 hours ago. Yesterday they hung a banner from its highest point, which read 'Stop Shell'. The activists are equipped with survival gear, and enough supplies to last for several days.Locations:Aotearoa-Oceania-TaranakiDate:25 Feb, 2012Credit:© Nigel Marple / GreenpeaceMaximum size:3000px X 2220pxKeywords:Aerial view-Banners-Boarding actions-Climate (campaign title)-Climbing actions-Day-Drillships-Greenpeace activists-KWCI (GPI)-Occupation actions-Oceans (campaign title)-Offshore drilling-Oil (fossil fuel)-Oil (Industry)-Oil drilling-Outdoors-Save the Arctic (campaign title)-Shell (commercial business)-ShipsShoot:Activists Board Shell Drillship in New ZealandActress Lucy Lawless joins Greenpeace New Zealand activists in stopping a Shell-contracted drillship, the Noble Discoverer, from departing the port of Taranaki for the remote Arctic, where its exploratory oil drilling programme threatens to devastate the Alaskan coastline.Related Collections:Activists Board Shell Drillship in New Zealand (Photo & Video)
