In August 2014, twenty-or-so anti-fracking nanas occupied the same fields for three weeks. The Lancashire nanas handed out free cake, tea and conversation in a bid to raise awareness of the dangers of the fracking industry that they so strongly opposed. The energy company applied for an injunction to keep away protesters in 2014, and the ban has been in place ever since. Now Emma and Sophie have returned – again armed with cake – to take part in the Frack Free Bake Off, inspired by the popular BBC series the Great British Bake Off. The site has been transformed by Greenpeace volunteers into a film studio, complete with white marquee, vintage utensils, and bunting. The celebrities will be cooking renewable energy-themed cakes in a bespoke kitchen powered by wood and solar panels.Related Collections:Emma and Sophie Thompson in the Frack Free Bake Off in UK (photo and video)
