The Capital Bikeshare program provides accessible, affordable, and environmentally friendly personal transportation for commuters, bikers, and tourists alike through the installation of bike stations throughout the greater Washington area. Electric scooters have also transformed personal transportation, with five companies operating hundreds of scooters throughout the city. Up to 4,815 dockless vehicles are permitted to operate in D.C. while there are more than 4,500 Capital Bikeshare bikes.
