Anti-Coal Action at the Law and Justice Party HQ in Warsaw

Greenpeace activists protested in Warsaw against climate inaction of two largest Polish political parties. 12 days ahead of European elections activists have covered up headquarters of Law and Justice (PiS) and Civic Platform (PO) with gigantic black banners with slogan ‘Coal-free Poland by 2030’. Both parties have ignored issues of climate change in their manifestos and have not proposed a coal phase-out date. Protest is held one day after a draft of the governmental Energy Policy of Poland until 2040 was discussed at the European Economic Congress in Katowice. The document states that coal consumption is to remain almost unchanged until 2030.
