Apple Farm Affected by Fire Blight in South Korea
Chungju in Chungbuk province. The first case of fire blight (a contagious disease affecting apples, pears, and some other members of the family Rosaceae) in Korea was in 2015 when an entire orchard had to be buried to prevent the spread of the disease. The damage to fruit farms is increasing every year. As climate change warms winters, pests spread easier in plants. This event shows how the climate crisis can destroy precious things in our daily lives, and sends a message calling for participation in action to prevent climate change.
