Arctic Sunrise Arrives in Amsterdam
Two Greenpeace captains hug each other: Pete Willcox and Daniel Rizotti. The Arctic Sunrise arrives in Amsterdam, following her departure from Murmansk. The Greenpeace ship was detained in the Russian port city for over 300 days following a high profile protest against Arctic oil drilling in September 2013. Members of the group of Arctic 30 who were detained in Russia came to the Netherlands. They board the ship on its voyage to Amsterdam. It is the first time they see the ship after their departure from Russia.

Arctic Sunrise Arrives in Amsterdam
The Greenpeace icebreaker Arctic Sunrise sails back into Dutch territorial waters after over 300 days in Russian custody. The ship has been held illegally since taking part in a peaceful direct action against state owned oil company Gazprom, as it tried to drill the world’s first oil well in icy Arctic waters. Several members of the so called ‘Arctic 30’ are there to greet the ship and board the vessel in Beverwijk, near Amsterdam.
