Bernadette Demientieff, an Alaska Native activist and Acting Executive Director of the Gwich’in Steering Committee, speaks to the crowd about her activism and fight for climate justice and ending offshore drilling. Climate activists came together outside the Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC where the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) held a hearing on Obama's proposed plan for offshore drilling. Speakers addressed crowds on the fight to end all offshore drilling in the Gulf and Arctic regions, after a recent ban on Atlantic drilling by the administration.
