Balinese Farmer in Kerta Buana Village in East Kalimantan
I Nyoman Derman, a Balinese farmer who lives in Kerta Buana village, Kutai Kertanegara district, East Kalimantan province, Indonesia. He is following a government program called "transmigration" since the early 80's. Until now, Nyoman still defends his land and fights against coal mines. He was sent to jail in 2003 for three months without trial when police regarded him as a provocateur. Now his son is studying law enforcement following his father's case.
